Challenges

Semi-detached property requiring excavation and large span concrete slabs, mixture of external finishes (painted render and face brick), very large and tall bi-fold door openings requiring custom-made commercial grade frames and eco-glass with high thermal properties to keep within energy ratings required by Basix

Outcomes

Very open, indoor/outdoor living areas suited to entertaining lifestyle of owners yet retaining ability for ducted air conditioning to cool and heat the houses efficiently as required. Large excavated garage to meet storage requirements. High visual impact from street front due to under ground garaging and striking, unusual wall finishes and features. Polished stainless steel used throughout due to close proximity to coastal conditions which adds to visual appeal.
